A new poll proves that most Americans believe former President Barack Obama wiretapped the Trump administration and want a special prosecutor to investigate the incident.
According to Investor’s Business Daily, the poll taken in the last week of January by IBD/TIPP, showed Americans “overwhelmingly believe the Obama administration ‘improperly surveilled’ Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, and a majority say they would like to see a special prosecutor appointed to look into possible misconduct by the FBI and Department of Justice in spying on Trump.”
That means 55 percent — well more than half — believe Trump over the media on a major issue stemming from the campaign and the presidential transition period. Furthermore, when asked whether there should be a special prosecutor to “investigate whether the FBI and the Department of Justice improperly surveilled the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election,” 54 percent said yes.
This follows shocking revelations made during the past few months.
Of course, we mean the release of a controversial memo that proves the FBI’s handline of the Trump-Russia collusion investigation was tainted — to say the least.
According to the memo, the FBI used an so-called “Trump dossier,” which was in part, paid for by Hillary Clinton, to obtain a warrant from a federal court under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
The full memo is posted here.
In that memo, it was stated that there is proof that on Oct. 20, 2016, “DOJ and FBI sought and received a FISA probable cause order (under Title VII) authorizing electronic surveillance on Carter Page from the FISC.”
Page served as an adviser to the Trump campaign.
Liberals, Democrats and the mainstream media on the other hand, claim the memo is unimportant — if not false.
While the mainstream media continues their smear campaign against President Trump, the American public aren’t buying it.
Instead, they choose to look at the facts and believe what many Republicans have said all along: President Obama was allowed to do illegal things and get away with them.
The poll findings don’t have any legal weight, of course, but they do give some indication of how the country would react to a new special investigation to look into how the Justice Department and FBI handled their investigations of Hillary Clinton’s private email server as well as the Trump-Russia “collusion” story.
That will look bad for Democrats, but the FBI would be in hot water as well.
If anything, this poll proves that Obama’s liberal legacy is ending — only a year after his administration did.
The American people are finally starting to wake up and do their own research — and the truth is coming out.
