It’s over folks. The beloved Republican Representative is out. Trey Gowdy, from South Carolina, has been majorly inventive and influential in his investigatory details. He’s been badgering people for years over their nonsense.
He is one of the best we’ve had in Congress and now he’s decided that he will not seek re-election and he will step down at the end of his term.
The 53-year-old Gowdy is serving as a member of the House Intelligence Committee and has been extremely interested in the FBI’s investigations of Hillary Clinton and her email scandal. He was interested in the Russian probe concept, which we all know is a joke, and it seemed like his goal was to prove the truth about who was really behind that mess of a distraction.
Most of all, especially lately, Trey Gowdy has wanted to see the memo released that describes what could become incriminating evidence in a massive scandal of the Watergate level.
Gowdy’s announcement comes as a shock since he’s a very high profiled member of Congress. It will be tough to replace him with someone of the same drive, determination, and skill level.
Gowdy feels as though his skills are better used in a courtroom. The former federal prosecutor will return to serving the American justice system. He will likely become a very fair, honest, and firm figure in the justice system. If he goes into prosecution again, then his opponents better bring their best game, because Gowdy combs over every detail more than he does that perfect hair of his. He will not miss a single detail, nor will he perform at anything less than a level of perfection.
Fox News provided more on Trey Gowdy’s announcement:
“During his tenure in Congress, conservatives had unsuccessfully mounted efforts to get Gowdy to run for speaker of the House or majority leader — efforts he rejected.
Gowdy joins a parade of committee chairs who are leaving at the end of the year.
They include: Science, Space, and Technology Committee Chairman Lamar Smith of Texas; Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce of California; Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte of Virginia; Transportation Committee Chairman Bill Shuster of Pennsylvania; Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling of Texas; House Administration Chairman Gregg Harper of Mississippi; House Budget Committee Chairman Diane Black of Tennessee and House Appropriations Committee Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen.
“He will be sorely missed in Congress, and I wish him and his family success in their future endeavors,” National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Steve Stivers said in a statement. “The NRCC is confident this seat will stay solidly in Republican control in November.”
In the House, more than 30 Republicans are retiring, resigning or running for another office as anti-Trump sentiment spreads in swing districts. That’s in comparison to just more than a dozen Democrats leaving the House.
The Republican exodus is the largest number of retirements since the 1994 congressional elections, when the GOP – aided in part by a slew of Democratic retirements – took back control of the House during former Democratic President Bill Clinton’s first term.”
Gowdy’s skillset will be hard to match. His level of attentiveness to details and incredible work ethic are impeccable skills that won’t be easy to find. His seat in Congress will be filled, but hard to replace.
Some of Trey Gowdy’s incredible work was diving into the Benghazi situation that took numerous American lives from us and put Hillary Clinton at the forefront of accusations and scandalous scrutiny from almost all of America. It’s something that Hillary has not ever been able to escape from and something that Trey Gowdy helped work for regarding making her accountable.
Fox News continued:
“The former federal prosecutor was elected to Congress in 2010. He quickly gained fame for his role in investigating Obama administration scandals on the Oversight Committee and then as the chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi.”
When a significant face like Trey Gowdy steps down to utilize his services elsewhere, then the whole system will feel it. There will be an empty seat at Congress where Trey Gowdy’s presence will loom.
Whoever takes his spot better be ready to work, pay attention to every detail possible, serve this country with the greatest level of patriotic enthusiasm, and most of all – have ever-changing hairstyles like Trey Gowdy!
Thank you, Trey Gowdy, for serving America well. You will do fantastic in your next job with the justice system.
